What is Myopia?
Myopia (also known as nearsightedness or short-sightedness) is a condition where close-up objects appear clearly, but faraway objects are blurry.
It is a common condition in children; however, diligent myopia management for kids can stop a child’s myopia progression somewhat. To help control myopia in kids, it is important that they have an annual pediatric eye exam, where they’ll receive an eye assessment and personalized recommendations for stopping myopia in its tracks. While there is no official myopia control age, some myopia management options, such as special contact lenses, are appropriate for kids anywhere from 6 to 12 years old.
